Elizabeth Alford is a principal in Pollen Architecture and Design in Austin with her husband, Michael Young, and Dason Whitsett. Her 12th Street Studios project received the 2007 UTSOA Student Architecture Award, and was published in Architectural Record Magazine. Pollen is currently at work on a master plan and renovation for the KIPP Charter School, a photovoltaic sunshade for a public park, an arts community building for East Austin, and a variety of residential projects. Before returning to Austin, Elizabeth had her own practice in New York for two years and was a project designer/manager at Smith-Miller+Hawkinson Architects for five years.

Elizabeth has taught design studios at UTSOA for six years, as well as a seminar on construction systems for houses. She is currently at work on a book titled "Site::Offsite; Architecture and the Factory-Built House," for which she has received a grant from the Graham Foundation. Elizabeth was a faculty advisor for the last two UT Solar Decathlon teams.
