Ulrich Dangel received a Diploma in Architecture from Universität Stuttgart in Germany and a Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon. His professional career led him to London where he worked for internationally renowned architecture firms Foster and Partners as well as Grimshaw. His experience includes projects such as Frankfurt Airport, the McLaren Research and Development Centre, the Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich, and the Education Resource Centre at the Eden Project in Cornwall. He is a registered architect in Germany and the UK.

Professor Dangel's research and teaching focuses on the consideration and integration of structure and envelope early in the design process. He is particularly interested in developing evaluation tools and strategies which aid in finding design solutions for building skins as components of sustainable, low-energy concepts. Ulrich Dangel is co-founder of CRE8WORKS, a design firm in Austin, Texas in collaboration with Tamie Glass. Their work focuses on the creation of contemporary architecture and interiors.
