areas of interest
Implications of low-energy architecture and architectural design, building construction, building envelope and experimental research in sustainable design and architectureDr. Lang joined the UT School of Architecture Faculty in 2008, where he is currently teaching building construction, sustainable design and the use of renewable energies in architecture. Previously he taught design, building construction and seminars on special topics of the building envelope at the TUM. He is co-author of the Façade Construction Manual (2004) and has published numerous articles on low-energy-architecture and sustainable design.
He is a practising and licensed architect and one of three managing directors of Lang Hugger Rampp GmbH Architects, Munich.
His focus in research is on the energy performance of buildings and the relationship between the environment and architectural design. He is member of the management committee of the COST action C23 on the reduction of CO2 emissions in the built environment, sponsored by the European commission and was one of the leading scientists in the research project for development of low-energy façade and window systems (Re-Frame), sponsored by the European Commission (2002-07).
Dr. Lang is member of the Center for Sustainable Development at the UTSOA.
